A couple months back, one of my peers (I don't think I've ever used that word) showed me some of Michael Carson's paintings because she thought I'd love them.

He's like a cross between Edward Hopper and Edgar Degas.
His paintings are beautiful and nostalgic, with a graphic quality and a soft haziness.
I also like that they're all sort of from a fashion perspective.
I mostly like them because they're of beautiful women.
